What is Google Authenticator?

Google Authenticator is a free security app that provides two-factor authentication (2FA) to help protect your online accounts. When you log in to a service that supports 2FA, Google Authenticator generates a temporary six-digit code that you must enter in addition to your password. This code changes every 30 seconds, making it hard for unauthorized users to access your account even if they know your password. The app works on smartphones and tablets and does not require an internet connection to generate codes. It enhances security by ensuring that only the person with access to the linked device can log in.
