Copy a file, folder, or text:

Now, tap and hold both Ctrl and C together


Done!


To copy a file:


Single-Click on the file


And use the Ctrl + C combo to copy it!


It works the same way with folders - just single-click on the folder, and use the copy combo!


But what about pasting it somewhere?


Choose your location for the text, file, or folder and use the Ctrl + V combo to paste it:


A quick note about doing this!! 


If you paste a file or folder in a location with a similar file name, Windows will change the name and append a -copy to avoid duplicate names:



Moving text, a file, or folder 


Use the Ctrl + X combo to 'cut' a file or piece of text:


Just single-click on the file or folder you want to cut / move to another spot and use this combo to move it to another location.


This is also a way to grab a large amount of text and move it elsewhere within a Word document or Excel spreadsheet. Plus, this combo works will with Google Apps like Docs and Sheets!


Some quick notes:


You may not have the right access to copy a file or folder to a certain location. Contact the helpdesk if you need this access.


Always avoid copying directly to the C:\ drive!!
