In Windows 10:
1. Click or tap on the 'Start' menu and type in 'Default Apps', then click on open
2. Scroll down to the Web browser section annd click on the icon below it - you will see this menu:
3. Click on 'Google Chrome' and, if prompted, instruct Windows to 'Switch Anyway'
In Windows 11:
1. On your keyboard, select the 'Windows key' and 'I' together:
2. In the menu that opens, select Apps
3. Next, click on 'Default apps' and browse through the list until you see Google Chrome or the browser of your choosing:
4. At the top-right, select 'Set default' to automatically assign all needed file / link types:
