Basic Projector Troubleshooting

If the projector is not displaying an image, there are a few things you can do.

Check the PC is in the correct projector mode

1. Press the Windows and P keys.

2. Depending if you are on Windows 7 or Windows 10/11, you will see one of the following windows.

3. Choose the appropriate option.

a. Computer Screen/PC Screen Only will display an image on the computer screen only.

b. Duplicate will display the same image on the computer and the projector.

c. Extend splits the image between the computer screen and projector. You can use this mode to use PowerPoint in Presenter View, which allows you to see your notes on the computer screen, while displaying the normal presentation on the projector.

d. Projector Only/Second screen only will display the image on the projector only.

Check A/V Mute is not on

1. Press the A/V Mute button on the remote control. This will usually not be necessary if you have switched the projector on, but it is necessary when a previous presenter has pressed the mute button.
